Sometimes off the shelf solutions do not offer the ideal solution for high end domestic or commercial lighting installations. The challenge is how to offer a custom built lighting solution that is simple to understand and order.
And it goes beyond the aesthetics of the fitting. Lighting a space correctly is a vital part of a room’s design. Whether you are providing ambient or task lighting or highlighting a feature, factors such as the beam angle, using a fixed or adjustable fitting, colour temperature, and different control options are all part of the specification.
Customisable product ranges
Potentially such customisation could prove prohibitively expensive and take weeks to build. Products that are easily customisable, such as our 1901 range offer your customer the style they desire within a reasonable cost and time frame.
They make it easy to customise the look and feel that your customer wants and allow you to tailor it to match the sizes, dimensions and specific lighting needs of a room or space. And all the lighting is from the same suite of products offering a contemporary and cohesive feel to the installation.
Simple step by step customisation
Faced with a number of decisions to make, we believe that offering a step-by-step build process makes life far easier for you and your customer.
Using our 1901 range for illustration:
Step 1: Choose your fitting
Choose what type of light you want. 1901 offers baffled downlights, baffled pendants, or baffled rotatable spotlights.
Step 2: Select housing and trim
Step 3: Choose your baffle colour
Step 4: Style options
Choose what style you want. For downlights choose the surrounding bezel, and for pendants and spotlights choose whether you want them surface mounted or semi-recessed.
Step 5: Fixed or adjustable?
Step 6: What colour temperature?
Considering the space and its decoration, choose a colour temperature from a very 2200K, a warm 2700K, 3000K, or a cooler 4000K. Alternatively what about a dim to warm option, where the colour temperature of the light gets warmer as you dim the fitting – just like a sunset?
Step 7: Beam angle
What beam angle do you want? Are you providing ambient lighting in which case you will need a wider beam of 50o, or do you need a medium angle of 24o, or to focus light in a narrow area, perhaps to highlight a feature, what about a narrow beam of 12o?
Step 8: Lighting control options
Think about your control options. Do you want simple on/off from the mains, dimming, wireless control using Bluetooth like Casambi, Â or does it need to be part of a more sophisticated system in which case specify DALI-2?
Step 9: IP rating
Do you need a higher IP rating, IP65 for zone 1 in a bathroom for example?
