What type of network does the hub support?
The hub uses Wi-Fi, and supports 2.4GHz networks only. WEP and WPA security are supported.
Is the Collingwood smart system secure?
The Collingwood smart system uses AES256 and TLS 1.2 encryption for sensitive data. The hub will only connect to secured Wi-Fi networks using WPA security, unsecured networks cannot be used. For someone to gain access to your system, they would need to have access to your password information, or you would need to invite them in to the system. Once a device is added to the system through the app it can only be paired with another device if you use the reset button to put it into pairing mode, or if you remove it from the system by deleting it in the app.
Where is the data stored?
User data is stored securely on the cloud server.
What safety standards do the smart devices conform to?
All the devices in the range have been tested against the relevant standards for the European Radio Equipment Directive (RED), which covers safety and radio emissions.
