Property developer Jordan Franklin turned to Collingwood Lighting to provide stunning lighting designs throughout a large contemporary home development project. The contemporary home project has some stunning and unique features which required equally stunning LEDs to show them off in their best light. This included decking, a raised walkway through water to the front door, accentuated by water features, and a stunning garden seating area with a firepit at its heart.

Jordan turned to Collingwood Lighting after seeing a display in a wholesaler’s and being impressed with the quality and design.

A combination of products was used throughout, including downlights and ground lights, to achieve the sophistication and style this large contemporary home demanded. These included the incredibly versatile LED LYTE IP, which have been used outdoors as an uplighter in the decking, and indoors as a downlight. This flush-mounted mini LED goes so much further than the average LED and thanks to its fully waterproof housing, it can be used to bring subtle accents of light to a variety of applications, making it ideal for decorative lighting.

Jordan also chose the GL019, one of the most popular ground light in the Collingwood range. He selected this as an absolute must after being impressed by it in situ in other installations, such as restaurants and hotels. This compact, yet powerful, fitting has been used both indoors and outdoors as its marine grade stainless steel will ensure it gives a flawless performance for many years of maintenance free operation.

One of the appeals of Collingwood Lighting for property developers is the high quality and long performance guarantee you get with the products, which means you pretty much never have to worry about the lights again after fitting.

Jordan commented: “I ended up going with Collingwood because I like the quality and the design. I really like the floor uplighters (GL019). I had spotted them in other places and realised they were a Collingwood product. They are one of my favourite fittings. But there is such a massive platform to choose from, it’s just a good all-round product.

“I massively had the wow factor when all the lights went on the first evening. I’ve bought some cheaper fittings and you can tell the difference straight away. I would like to use Collingwood again; you get what you pay for, it’s a good product.”
